Welcome

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog where I will share my experience being a wife, mom, and student. My name is Clevene Clarke and I am married to the love of my life Jermaine Clarke. We have two beautiful girls who keep us on our knees and feet each day. We love their excitement to learn and they quickly kick us away when we try to help.  Building a home with my husband for the last 6 years has not always been easy, but we wake up each day and keep trying to improve. We wish to announce, that we have not earned our degree in parenting lol.   In this vlog, I will share my lifestyle, frugal living, meal plans, meal preps, Jamaican recipes and so much more. Let me hear it for all the mamas who also are penny pinchers and dime clinchers.  You can follow me each week as I post and feel free to share your insights and feelings in the comments. I will be posting twice per week so stay tuned to the wild ride into my crazy.

Investments With Wisdom

To speak about investments and wise financial choices takes a lot of expertise, something I do not claim to have. For years, I have sought to ask family and friends about the financial decisions they made in life and how successful they have been for them. My favorite person to have discussions with about investments is my Dad. For years he would always speak about two main investments, stocks and real estate.

With a plethora of options out there to invest in, it is so easy to get lost or suck in. It is never an easy decision to invest personal money or effort into something that is not a surety. I have come to the realization that with research and prayer, good decisions can be made toward financial growth. Financial success takes time. For some, years, it is never a get-rich-quick scheme. If it seems too good to be true it probably is.

For years I have practiced writing down goals and making plans. With each plan comes sacrifices and fears. I have been hesitant with many of these goals as I did not feel I had enough information or backing. Take time to plan and prepare, do not look outward at what everyone else is achieving and how quickly they are doing so. Stick to good plans and execute at the right time. I once heard something powerful from a YouTube family I love to watch and how they invest, I quote from them "Some years are question years, and some years are answer years." Likewise, we could add the old scripture verse "a time to plant and a time to reap." Earn honestly and without stepping on anyone else in the process.

My Dad shared with me once that he would buy cheap houses out in the countryside in America, fix them up, and resell them. They were houses people saw no potential in or had any desire to spend time and resources on. He saw the worth of these houses and the potential earnings. He rented the first house he bought and was able to purchase another from the earnings.

Sites like Fidelity.com have been some of the ideas shared with me by the seniors whom I have spoken to. Learn trading and stocks, and speak with persons who have been trading for years successfully.

Use sites like liquidation.com to purchase products that are shelf pulls or returns packed on pallets. Try to find pallets that are near your location and that contain things that are in demand and can easily be sold. These are just two ideas, more to come on what I have learned and am learning.... stay with me as I learn and share with you.

Ps. Buy your kids piggy banks, it may seem old-fashioned but it encourages them to save and to do chores for change. Get your piggy banks here: https://amzn.to/4k1rh2s
